At Seaview Terrace, the material palette takes its cue from the coast.
Around it, textured plaster softens the edges of the rooms. Dark timber adds weight and contrast.
Aged metalwork draws out the warmer lines within the stone, while linen and deeply textured upholstery bring softness to surfaces touched every day.
A blue-grey stone runs through the interior, its fractured surface carrying warm ochre and bronze veining against cooler mineral tones.
It was selected in response to Manyana’s meeting of sea, sand and late-afternoon light, becoming the material thread that connects the living spaces, bedroom and wet areas.
The seven senses guided decisions quietly: daylight grazing across plaster, the coolness of stone against the hand, the acoustic softness of fabric, the changing reflection of the sea, and the way materials reveal more of themselves at close range.
Nothing was selected in isolation. Each material carries something of the site into the interior.
