A house shaped by the mountain, and by the slow movement of water through stone.
The material narrative is not applied as decoration. It comes from the site itself, water, rock, vegetation, filtered light and the long horizon translated into proportion, texture and material.
Blue-veined stone moves through the interior like a geological seam, across joinery, surfaces and carefully framed moments, its cool mineral tones set against pale stone, brushed brass and soft natural textiles. The palette draws from the changing blues of the distant ranges and the warmer tones of the Queensland light.
Through the seven senses, the design is considered beyond appearance alone. Stone is selected for its visual depth and coolness to touch. Ribbed surfaces, woven textiles and curved junctions introduce different tactile scales.
Curtains and upholstered forms soften the acoustic character of the open rooms, while dining and gathering spaces are positioned to frame everyday rituals against the mountain beyond.
A space with an identity, not a finish.
