A material-led interior shaped by its scenic setting.
The stone is deliberately balanced against warm plaster, dark timber, aged metal and tactile upholstery.
Instead of repeating the material uniformly, each application responds to its position: large slabs establish visual hierarchy, smaller insertions mark thresholds and junctions, while softer surfaces temper its polish and weight.
The result is not a palette assembled independently of place, but an interior whose material language is drawn back to Hunchy.
Veining is framed rather than randomly placed. Polished stone sits against textured fabric and timber grain.
Material origin and character are allowed to remain legible rather than being reduced to a decorative finish.
For Hunchy Strata, the stone selection began with the site rather than the room.
Mineral greens, muted sage tones and deep rust veining were chosen in response to the layered colour of the Hunchy landscape, then carried through the interior at different scales, from full-height stone surfaces to the bath, joinery and smaller furniture elements.
A space with an identity, not a finish.
